ANNOUNCEMENTS

·         All French and German students are invited on a field trip to the “Feast of the Hunters’ Moon”- and a visit of Purdue Campus on Saturday Sept 30th.  The cost is $5 See Ms. Ault for details.

·         Porter County youth festival is Oct 7th, from5 to 10pm at the Porter County Expo Center.

·         Attention Freshmen & Seniors!  Jostens will be here on Wednesday, September 27th  during lunch to take class jewelry and cap & gown orders.  Please bring your completed form and deposit to the order table. You can also order online at jostens.com.

 

·          GUIDANCE NEWS

§  Juniors & Seniors:  Ivy Tech dual credit applications are due this Friday, Sept. 22.  If you have not yet applied for a dual credit class that you're currently enrolled in this trimester, please see Ms. Day or Miss Guernsey in the guidance dept.  You must apply to Ivy Tech to be considered for dual credits.

§  Purdue Northwest will have a representative in the cafeteria during lunches ‘Today, if you wish to talk to them.

§  Purdue Northwest College Fair at the Westville Campus is Oct 2nd.  Go to pnw.edu/college-fair for more information.

§  Dollars for Scholars Information: All students are encouraged to begin their student profile to qualify for the Dollars for Scholars scholarship.  Go to uniontownship.dollarsforscholars.org, Student Tab, Login (follow instructions).  Seniors be sure your application is complete and submitted with essay, transcripts, and reference, before April 7th, 2018. Click the “My Scholarship portion of your profile to view all scholarships you may qualify for.  You must click “SUBMIT” to complete.  See your Guidance counselor for more details.

 

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

SPORTS RESULTS:

·         Congratulations to Jillian Strezovski for being named to the 2017 Indiana Academic All-State Golf Team.  In addition, Kaitlin Horgash, Gina Stephenson, and Madelin Strezovski earned Academic All-State Honorable Mention.

·         Lady Bearcat varsity soccer defeated Westville 9-0. Elena Giorgi, Morgan Putz, Amber Handley, Tessa Haldeman, Fran Zeitler, Kaitlyn Asher, Payton Fairbairn, Sydney Eden, accounted for the scoring. Delaney Bath, Katlynn Mistina, Giorgi, and Fairbairn had one assist each. Lyric Green made one save in the win. The team is now 15-0 on the year and clinched the NWISL Championship.

SPORTS EVENTS FOR TODAY:

Varsity football travels to South Central for a 7pm game.

Boys varsity soccer travels to Kouts for a 5pm game.

 

SPORTS EVENTS FOR SATURDAY:

Volleyball travels to Griffith for the GSSC invite, starting at 9am

Boys and Girls cross country will travel to Highland for a 9am meet

Boys varsity soccer travels to Westville for a 10am game.

Boys tennis travels to Culver Academies, matches start at 10am.
