National Honor Society
Established in 1921, the National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The Wheeler High School National Honor Society consists of hardworking juniors and seniors who demonstrate commitment to the pillars of NHS by achieving good grades, serving the community, acting as honorable role models for others, and embodying qualities such as freedom, democracy, and justice through active citizenship. Each Wheeler NHS members is expected to maintain a high cumulative GPA, and each member must provide evidence of completed community service. NHS members are also expected to attend meetings and fundraising activities.
