ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Homecoming News: “Midnight Masquerade” is this Saturday from 7-10:30pm. Outside Fieldhouse.

§  THIS IS SPIRIT WEEK!  TODAY-Hat Day, tomorrow-Big 10 Day, Wed-Decades Day, Thu-Tourist Day, Fri-Spirit Day  (Class colors are Freshman-White, Sophomore-Green, Junior-Orange, Senior-Black.)

§  Homecoming court: bring your bio forms to Ms. Mak or Ms. Eveland by the end of the day TODAY.

§  Dance Tickets, will be on sale in the cafeteria this week. $20 per person. The first 250 people to buy their tickets will receive a mask at the dance

§  Guest request form must be filled out and returned to Mrs. Bogs by Wed if you are binging a guest from another school

§  Wednesday will be Banner Decorating from 5:30 to 7:30. Freshman meet in Ms. Mak's room. Sophomores are in Ms. West's room. Juniors in the auditorium. Senior's in Ms. Eveland's room. 

§  Mmmmm...Culvers.  Culver's Frozen Custard will be here THIS FRIDAY during all lunches.  Enjoy a scoop or two or three with your favorite toppings, and while you're at it, you'll be supporting the WHS Academic Teams.  

§  The Homecoming Fish and Chicken fry will be hosted by the student council in the cafeteria on Friday from 4-7pm. Cost is only $7 for students and children, $8 for seniors, and $9 for adults!

·         Color guard meet in the band room during 1st resource today.

·         Support your class by buying Spirit Chains during lunch. Each Spirit Chain link costs $1. The class with the longest chain wins. That class will gain points toward the Homecoming Spirit Contest! Buy Spirit Chains at lunch today!

·         Debate Club will meet in Mr. Boruff's room after school TODAY.

·         Gaming Club will meet in Mr. Boruff's room after school on Thursday, not Wednesday. All students are invited.

·         The Spell Bowl Callout meeting will be on Thursday during 2nd Lunch in Room 506 (Mr. Boruff). Anyone interested in joining Spell Bowl should attend. Bring your lunch.

 

GUIDANCE NEWS

§  The following colleges will have a representative in the cafeteria during lunches this week, if you wish to talk to them: Today-Wabash and Indiana University Bloomington, 9/12-Bradley University, 9/13- Grand Valley State University, 9/14-Monmouth College

                (Next Week: 9/18 Hanover College, 9/19 Indiana Tech, 9/21 Purdue Northwest)

§  Purdue Northwest College Fairs are:  Sep 14th – Hammond Campus & Oct 2nd – Westville Campus.  Go to pnw.edu/college-fair for more information.

SPORTS RESULTS:

Wheeler defeated West Lafayette 4-1 today. Lyric Green had a hat trick and Riley Garcia added one score in the win. Katlynn Mistina had one assist while Cheyenne Foor made four saves. The team is now 11-0 on the year and ranked #1 in 1A.

 

SPORTS EVENTS FOR TODAY:

Boys tennis is at home against Hanover Central at 4:30 today.

Boys varsity soccer plays Highland at 5pm

Girls volleyball play KV at home, JV at 5:30 followed by varsity at 7pm
