HAPPY BIRTHDAY: 

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

·         Culver's Frozen Custard will be here tomorrow during all lunches.  Don't forget to bring some cash on Friday for a delicious treat and support Academic Teams.

·         Sophomores: You will be voting for your class president for next school year in resource TODAY. Make sure you go to your resource to cast your ballot for either Emma Santos or Connor Vessely. 

·         Student Council Officers have a meeting right after school TODAYin Ms. Mak's room. 

·         Student Council Scholarship Applications are also due at the end of the school day TODAY.

·         Good luck to Josh Mangnall, JR Fogus, Hollie Coto, Frani Spero, and Bobby Emery as they compete on the "Making the Grade" Game show at WYIN studios in Merrillville.  They will compete against other schools for scholarships, and the episode will be aired on TV at a later date to be announced.

·         Gaming Club will meet after school in Mr. Boruff's room today.

·         Movie Club will meet after school in Mr. Boruff's room on Friday.

·         Thank you to all volunteers who stepped up and saved lives at yesterday's Be The Match Donor registration event and the Red Cross Blood Drive!   WHS students saved up to 144 lives!  Well done!  We were able to donate 43 pints of blood, and 15 new people were added to the Stem Cell Donor Registry.  People like Dalaney, Mrs. Kenning, and countless others around the world will be helped with your generous actions.  

·         If you loved the Divergent series you might want to watch the live webcast with author Veronica Roth this Friday, May 10th in the library at 12:45. Please sign up with Mrs. Horan.

·         Any senior that participated with Bearcat Theatre this year; scholarship applications are in the main office. Scholarships are due back to Mr. Hanaway by May 17th.

·         Key Club is hosting a night out at Chick-Fil-A next Thursday, May 16th from 5:00-7:00. The wheel will be out towards the end of the night, and you can spin to win prizes for a $1.00 donation. See any Key Club member or Mrs. Gibson for a donation form.

 

GUIDANCE NEWS

 

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

·         Wheeler High School will be offering Athletic Physicals on May 16th from 3:30-5:30 in the Nurse's office. Please have IHSAA physical forms filled out when you arrive. Cost is $25.00."

Softball double header at Griffith at 4:45.

Baseball is at home against Hobart at 5pm

Boys Track & Field travel to Calumet for a 5:30 meet.
