I graduated magna cum laude from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Arts Education. I am also a graduate of the Honors College at Ball State, having completed an honors thesis based on the works of Lotte Reiniger. I am certified to teach Kindergarten through 12th grade. My specialization is in Ceramics, and I hold a minor in German.

I have been teaching Art at Wheeler since 2008. Before graduating, I studied abroad and completed my student teaching at Baumholder Army Base in Germany. In my free time, I enjoy reading, dancing and travelling. I have also spent my entire life involved in the sport of gymnastics. As an athlete of 14 years, I enjoyed many successes including two IHSAA state titles in 2000 and 2002 with my team, and an individual title in 2003. I have been coaching since I was 15 and plan to continue my involvement as a judging official in the future.

Welcome to Miss West’s class page. The Visual Arts at Wheeler High School are enjoying a wealth of talent and learning. It is my goal, through each art class, to create a deeper appreciation of the work that artists do and have done for centuries. Students have a chance to explore our visual culture through 2D and 3D courses, including Drawing, Ceramics, and Digital Design.
