Last night, students enrolled in the Astronomy course at WHS had an opportunity to use the Valparaiso University Observatory. The 16" reflecting telescope was operated by VU astronomy majors. Thank you to the VU Department of Physics and Astronomy for hosting us!




Wheeler High School is proud of Liam King and Jude Richardson. They are part of a prestigious group of academically talented high school juniors who scored in the top 1% of test-takers nationally on the PSAT/NMSQT.

Congratulations to Luke Richardson and Jack Middleton who were named Commended Students from Collegeboard's National Merit Scholarship program! While they will not be advancing in the scholarship competition, they were recognized for their exceptional academic promise among the top 50,000 participants in the country who took the test. Great job!

We have a couple weeks of High Five Fridays to catch up on today - and, YES, Ms. Rios crocheted that sweater herself!
Mrs. Mills was high-fived for all of her energy during Spirit Week.
Alissia Kimble has been helping out as a guidance/office intern and has been doing a great job!
Mrs. Shields has been a major help to the front office staff and always has a smile on her face!
Mrs. Dobson has gotten shout outs from multiple parents and kids for being so helpful.
Harper Schaberg has had multiple teachers comment on how polite and respectful he is.
Zach Haralovich was caught doing multiple acts of kindness for different people.
And Ms. Rios is always willing to lend a hand wherever she is needed.

Today, Porter County Prosecutor Gary Germann came to Wheeler High School to speak to my Criminal Justice II class. The students learned more about the Prosecutor's Office and what exactly the Prosecutor does day to day. Mr. Germann also presented a few real cases to the students, who then had to decide if criminal charges were warranted or not. The presentation was very informative for the students regarding a very important role in the criminal justice system.
