This week, WHS Physics students studied high energy particle collisions and participated in research at PNW's QuarkNet Conference. They detected electrons, muons, and Higgs bosons from experiments coducted at CERN (the world's most powerful particle collider) in Geneva, Switzerland. Thank you to Dr. Neeti Parashar for hosting us and several other area schools!

Message from Wheeler Athletics- We were informed that Calumet high school will not have a Varsity baseball team this year. The baseball team will now have their Senior day on Saturday, May 9th at 10am vs Westville. The Spring sports save the date flyer has been updated with the new date.

Congratulations to Christian Cutka, Caleb McLaughlin and Tyne Vettickal on receiving Academic All-State awards! They are being recognized for excelling in both Academics and Athletics! Wheeler is so proud of you!

Another great group of students participating in the WHS Fall Natural Helpers experience! The morning started off with a beautiful sunrise and breakfast together before heading into a great day of connection and learning at Camp Butternut Springs. It’s always inspiring to see our students build leadership skills, support one another, and strengthen the relationships that make our school community special. This month we celebrate National Athletic Training Month and recognize the incredible work of our athletic trainer, Maggie Long!

From injury prevention and treatment to supporting our athletes on and off the field, Maggie plays a vital role in keeping Wheeler athletes healthy and competing at their best.

UTSC will operate on a two hour delay schedule March 6, 2026 due to the dense fog again.

Come out and support Wheeler Track & Field for their Fish Fry this Friday, March 6th from 4-7pm!

Wheeler High School's academic teams came through with an exceptional performance at the Purdue Northwest invitational Wednesday night. Competing against 11 Porter County schools (including Valpo and Chesterton):

- Our math and fine arts teams placed 3rd
- Our Science team placed 2nd
- Our English team took home the first place trophy!

Our overall scores were high enough to earn us an overall combined 2nd place finish for the evening!

Congratulations to all team members on a successful evening as we look forward to the next area competition in April.
