The 2026 Indiana Academic Super Bowl is about to kick off! Students from across Porter County are gearing up for an exciting evening of competition, teamwork, and academic excellence.
A special thank you to Mr. Kenning for your leadership, and to all of our academic coaches for the time, dedication, and support you provide our students.
Good luck to all—and go Bearcats!

Voices of the future! Last week, students stepped up to the podium at the school board meeting. Whether they were being recognized for excellence or sharing their classroom experiences, these Bearcats proved that leadership starts right here at UTSC. We love seeing our students take an active role in our school community!

Wheeler High Welcomes the Honorable Judge Philip Simon

Last week, 10 Key Club students attended the Amanda Forum at Aberdeen Manor.
The Amanda Forum was formed in the summer of 2013 in response to the death of a local teen, Amanda Bach, who lost her life to teen dating violence, and the Valpo Kiwanis and The Caring Place sponsor the conference.
Students learned to recognize red flags in unhealthy relationships, dating violence, and financial abuse through meaningful discussions, education, and mentoring. The conference also included workshops on the importance of financial independence and on ways to protect yourself through simple self-defense strategies.
Having a strong support system was emphasized, and many resources were provided if anyone should ever need them.
The kids had a fabulous time meeting other students from the region while learning valuable life skills.
